 Jobs to do in July...

  • Harvest berries such as blackcurrants and gooseberries and early fruits.

  • Prune back raspberry shoots to the ground after the fruit has been picked.

  • Tie up blackberry shoots.

  • Add more mulch if necessary to vegetable beds.

  • Refil the gaps from which vegetables have been harvested with sowings of carrots, radishes and winter vegetables.

  • Plant onion seed and potatoes for Christmas

  • Start off a new compost heap for grass cuttings and cebris leftover after fruit has been harvested.

  • Check that irrigation systems are kept in good working order and continue to collect rain water on a regular basis.
