December

 Jobs for the winter

There is little to do during the winter.  Like the animals and plants you can use the time to rest.  Reflect on the past year and make fresh plans for the forthcoming season.

Job's to do in December...

  • Prune apple trees, pruning of fruit bushes such as gooseberries, res, white and blackcurrants are pruned from November - March.
  • Hargvest winter vegetables and check on those you may have stored.
  • Pick brussel sprouts.
  • Grow herbs such as cress and parsley on the windowsill.
